A few symptoms - maybe someone can help: After the first full cycle (receive news, run uuxqt) I read the news with elm. It immediately said that my active file was corrupt, my .newsrc was fubar'd and reset it. When I read news, it shows 1 article in each group. Even if I delete my .newsrc and let it be recreated, it only shows one article per group (there are actually over 5000 articles in some of my groups) Here is a sample of the uuxqt output as well. I can't send news out to my leaf nodes anymore because all the articles (?) remain in the goingout directory (as .art files). ============================================== check_sys: checking distributions check_sys: checking groups deliver_article: Article <443n7p$402@news2.delphi.com> undeliverable to groups a lt.genealogy, distribution world check_sys: checking groups Article cross-posted to soc.genealogy.french check_sys: checking distributions check_sys: checking groups deliver_article: Article <43rrgc$4o2@transfer.stratus.com> undeliverable to grou ps soc.genealogy.french, distribution world check_sys: checking groups Article cross-posted to comp.os.os2.setup.misc check_sys: checking distributions check_sys: checking groups Saving remote article in e:/news/going.out/trgcal/uupc0459.art : OS/2 returned error code 123. Unfortunately these are the same problems I had with the 12n beta release. I suspect I am doing something wrong, as I can't get it to work at all, and I assume most of us are having some level of success? I also committed that grave sin - I overwrote the release level I had been using (pre 12n - what ever that was) so can't even fall back anymore (sigh) Any help appreciated - my leaf sites are screaming at me.......... thanks, Ken -- ***************************************************************** * Ken Wiens * * * Information Systems Manager * Using OS/2 and UUPC/extended * * Ranger Oil Limited * * * Calgary, Alberta, Canada * fax 403-251-6354 * * via ken@kgwcal.cuug.ab.ca * voice 403-251-2980 * ***************************************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Sep 95 10:39:05 From: bconnell@aur.com Subject: Has Anyone? When I do a connection over TCP/IP my mail/news files get sent but I am receiving anything. The only things I have changed is my dial modem file to the tcp modem file. I used the TCP/IP uucico do a normal uupc connection. It timed out after receiving a few packets(this I understand) but in a TCP/IP environ. it will not collect my mail.
