We are using UUPC 1.12k together with Pegasus mail (Pegasus invokes rmail directly) and there are a few things I would like to know: 1) Is there a way to get expanded system aliases? 2) Is there a way to make rmail look into the user alias file? 3) Is there a way to make the Sender: line generation case insensitive? Now the (stupid) Pegasus won't accept lower case user names resulting in an ugly From: line user id and an equally ugly Sender: line with the same user id, which differs only in case... (I changed 'alias' to 'nickname' above). The UUPC/extended design presumes the user interface expands nicknames into headers and that system wide aliases are just that, known to the system and processed internally. In other words, you want Pegasus mail to insert any names in the headers you want. Doesn't it support nicknames? > > 3) Is there a way to make the Sender: line generation case > insensitive? To: UUPC/Extended mailing list I recently tried running rmail under Windows NT and had the following error: "Run time library error in d:\src\uupc\mail\rmail.c at line 488 ... /dev/nul: No such file or directory" We run rmail from a network drive which is linked to an NT box running TCP/IP services, with Beames & Whiteside NFS Client software making the link. This is very similar to our DOS setup (which runs perfectly) where we have Beames & Whiteside NFS Client software for DOS making the link to the remote drive. To the best of my knowledge, the only difference in environment variables between NT and DOS are not relevant to the rmail command. Has anyone else had this problem with rmail on NT?
